What Is An Online Photo Editor?

Online photo editors are simplified versions of Photoshop but still give you the features that most people require.

Photoshop itself was created for the pros and serious users wanting the ultimate photo editor available. The online editors are geared more for the average user that still intends to get into editing but without the learning curve that it takes to use photoshop.

The online versions still allow you to create and change your images around but with much more ease and simple clicks to do a set of commands rather than having total control but multiple clicks for the same thing.

By simplifying the process, you can still do the same features and produce your finished images that will work just fine for the internet. The overall functions do not require you to get into altering the details like Photoshop for more intricate details.

It’s no different than in the past you had to code for all websites but now with the website builders, coding is no longer a requirement. Some companies still use coding for top end sites just as professionals still use Photoshop for editing. The online editors work great for most people and are easier to use.

This option is for you when:

No budget for professional software when cheaper will suffice.
No time for learning complicated software for making minor adjustments.
Looking to edit for online and not for professional graphics with extreme resolution gets involved.
Lack the knowledge of creating special effects which by the way Photoshop does not have so you can either create some or purchase them to install.

When it comes to online photo editors, there are a lot to choose from so I’ll mention some that most people tend to use from researching.

I use Photoshop and know what it can do so I also based my findings to others that are familiar with both Photoshop and the online software editors.

From the different people using these editors, they have found each has strong suits for what works well and what doesn’t.

Do You Need An Online Photo Editor?

Some people may get away without using a photo editor, but I would say most people should have access to one if they want to have fantastic looking images throughout their site.

As I mentioned, I use Photoshop, but it’s not for everyone mainly due to cost and learning curve.

Depending on the tools you’ll need you could pay anywhere from $9.99-$79.99/month. The time it takes to learn will also be another issue compared to other software packages.

With an online editor, you will make the adjustments and changes without having to disassemble the entire image to tweak something.

Online editors have predesigned tools to take care of typical editing functions to fix or adjust your images. Preset effects for basic functionals also simplify manipulating your images as well.

Very good site. It is very attractive and clean. Good information and comparisons. I did not realize that a user had to pay a monthly or yearly fee in order to use one of these programs. Are all of the photo apps going to a monthly use fee instead of letting a person beinging able to purchase out right.

I’m not really sure about the long range game plan for how the software packages are going to be sold and used for access, but I do know that over the last few years, this tends to be the new trend. I believe they’re doing it for the money they can make, by everybody having to pay month after month adds up to a pile more money than selling a package and then you just pay for upgrades.

In the past, you would buy a software package and then smaller upgrade fees. Then they would introduce a product under a different name to have you pay full price and start all over again. With this newer monthly or yearly method they can just keep billing you year after year as you keep using the product.

Some of them still give you a free package that’s ongoing but with limitations hoping you’ll upgrade for the extra features which a lot of people will do, but the free version is available for all to try and even keep using.

I personally like BeFunky as it definitely provides an ample amount of templates. And they do look beautiful too. I like the price plan which does not burn out pocket. Definitely worth a try. It’s doing a good job in convincing me for an upgrade. I only hope it would provide more templates along the way.

The free versions will always have some form of limitations and until you go to a paid package, then and only then will you have full access. Depending on how much editing you need to do, sometimes one of the free packages can manage but for many serious marketers depending on the niche they have chosen, they usually purchase some form of software for editing their images for their site.

wow, another great article! Never thought that there are so many tools on the internet to edit photos. I personally using manually editing with adobe photoshop which is quite simple for the experienced users. However, your article is so helpful for those who do not know about photoshop. Great information gathered in this website.Photo editing specially for the websites are so important and seems like using this software photo editing can be done online. Normally Photoshop is series of course to learn and do.Is this software easy to use or do we have to learn about the software much deeper as Photoshop?

    August 15, 2016 at 10:26 am

With all software, there is some learning behind them but most are a lot quicker than Photoshop as they are much simpler forms and do less. Depending on how much experience you have with using graphic software will also determine how fast you’ll master them as well.

Most software these days now have tutorials to show you how to operate and use them which will significantly speed up the time it takes to use them.

Photos are really important to make your blog posts look more beautiful and readable.
Photos are also important for SEO, they help rank better in the search engine by allowing to add keyword in the image tag.
You cannot steal photos from google so you need a way to get photos I personally use Pixabay. I will try this tool, thanks for sharing this amazing post with us

    October 29, 2016 at 12:00 pm

I also use Pixabay a lot for images, but it is always good to have a few sources to give you better options on where and what type of images you can get.

Having resources to improve our websites is important, so I have created a bit of a one-stop shop to help marketers spend more time on creating and less on having to find extra resources to complete pages/posts.

    Enjoy the links!

Firstly, thanks for pointing out that Photoshop is for the pros – I took a look at it once and was totally bamboozled by the whole thing, quickly realizing it was far more than I will ever need! I have been using the free version of Canva, which doesn’t really allow much in the way of editing, but it does let me create an image file by combining text and images I upload. It may soon be time to venture out to something else though. I like the sound of Befunky – nice and easy to use, and with a reasonable price tag! Thanks for the details.

Hi Mara and know that there are always different alternatives to getting things done on the Internet. For most programs, they will have many different offers depending on which ones you look into so try the ones with free trial periods or free packages.

Just remember that all these programs with free trials or packages will be limited in what functions and features you’ll have access to but at least you may find one that has enough that you can use for free that does the job your looking for to create your images.
