Website And Hosting For Free!

Looking to get your website and hosting for free, then look no further than right here. You are only clicks away from having the perfect website up and running!

website and hosting for freeThat’s right! You’ve come to the right place to have a free website and hosting for free to use for business, hobby, blog to give you the exposer needed for the Internet. Many companies are offering free websites and hosting, but you need to look at the fine print. What do you get and for how long?

What do others offer?
What can I offer you?

What’s the catch?

What do others offer?

Without getting into stating names, the bulk of the companies offering you a free website and hosting package are doing one or more of the following things.

  • Free website and hosting with limitations
  • Free website and hosting plus ads
  • Free domain name with package
  • Trial period

Free website and hosting with limitations

There are a couple of companies that will allow you to have your website and hosting for free when you are not monetizing your site for profitable gains. These sites can work out perfect for you if doing an online presence like digital scrapbooking to share with friends or family. Perhaps you want to have a blog to post about something that interests you and the visitors you’ll attract.

So long as you have nothing on your website that will give you an income, these companies will allow you to have a simple package. To use the site to generate an income you’ll be required to upgrade for a monthly or yearly fee. How much you pay and how much support you’ll receive depends on who the company is.

Free website and hosting plus ads

which website and hosting for freeIn this scenario, there are plenty of businesses that will allow you to have the free website and hosting to do as previously mentioned but this time, you can create a site for producing income. The reason these companies have no problems with you having a business site for profits is they will piggy back of your generated traffic you bring to your website with their banner adds etc. Every time you have visitors coming to your site, they may go off to your hosting company where they can upsell to your potential customer.

Most people that have other companies banners and ads will either be affiliates using specific marketing tools to get sales or PPC’s set up. This way you get paid for advertising through your site to bring them sales.

Free domain name with package

Another typical freebie you’ll see is the one where you can have your custom domain name. What they will usually do is offer a free domain name where they will purchase the name you want that is available, and it’s yours for the first year free. Some will give you free hosting with that for a time frame up to a year but usually, just have a reduced first-year package price.

The big thing to remember here is some people figure that they will build their business site and ride the freebie through then transfer the domain name for another sweet sign up package. The problem is, you do not own the domain name as they registered it, and they lock your website down until they get paid or you can start all over again. You need to check the fine print with some of those offers.

Trial period

This is, by far the most common approach on the Internet today, a trial period. The methods most companies use as a trial period is one of the better ways to get involved as you’ll be able to see just how they operate and whether or not it’s a place you want to be. Most trial periods are seven days from signup. For most things you’ll be doing on the Internet, seven days is plenty of time to know if it’s right for you.

The big problem with this is if your goal was to have a free website and hosting package indefinitely, this is not an option to even consider.

What you can do is take a look at what I can offer you!

What can I offer you?

What I can offer you is the real deal, you can have a website and hosting for free! Not only can you have one but you have the option to create two entirely separate websites.

This package is just one of two. When you sign up for your free package, there is no obligation, and you can use your sites for personal or business use. There are no ads unless you decide to do PPC etc. and get paid for all the clicks or sales you bring through your site from your traffic.

At this point, you can just enter a unique name for your website to get started!

Or

You can get the full details from my post, Free Website And Hosting.

What’s the catch?

Now one of the things you do need to remember is all the free website, and hosting packages are on sub-domains. If you do not know what a sub-domain name is, then you can read more about it here at Domain Name How To. You will be able to have an online presence, but it takes more work to generate the traffic you’ll want and need unless you’re only interested in friends and family.

With most of the other companies, they will incorporate time limits, continually try to upsell you with everything under the sun, piggy back from your traffic to generate more income for themselves, etc.

With what I offer you, none of that applies, in fact, they will give you a seven day trial period no obligations to go premium. For one full week, you will have full access to the University and community. These are lessons, seminars full contact with the community and all their training. When you’re new to having an online presence, there is no better place to be. If all of this is old hat to you and you’re intermediate to full out entrepreneur, then you can still take advantage of the free package or stay up to date with being a Premium member.

Website and hosting for free is what you’ll receive here with no catch!

Hi there Travis,

Those are some good pointers for choosing a host and a website. I think one of the most common mistakes that beginners do is that they think getting a free domain for the first year can save them a lot of money.

The trouble starts when after you build a website and found out its limitation, you are going to think about transferring to other host, but you can’t do that if the domain doesn’t belong to you.

On top of that, the back up system of this type of platform is usually less than optimal. So you are going to have trouble moving the content too, unless you are willing to start all over again.

You might save some money on the first year, but you are going to waste a lot of time on the second year onward if everything goes wrong.

Everything that you have mentioned has been happening to many people. For myself, after being with a different hosting company for just over eight years when I wanted to transfer my domain name, I did own it but I still ended up having to rebuild the entire website over.

After finding out all the great benifits with WA I decided to let others know with this website to help get them on the right track.

Thanks for all of the info, you helped me get my mind straight as to how this really works. I am really going to take your advice of having my own domain instead of using a free one. Plus doing so helps your site get more viewers (because sub-domains don`t rank as good in google).

It is true that sub-domains do not rank as well as top level domain names. Any domain names that are not actual search keyword phrases require the pages/posts you write to make your site rank. The only other way is to use marketing techniques where some methods are free while others will cost you money.

The more traffic you can generate naturally without paying for the better. Having a top level domain name that has a highly used search keyword phrase is a great way to receive extra traffic month after month without paying extra for it.

This would make a pretty pleasant change from fiddling about with Weebly or blogger for a bit – how dynamic and functional do these free websites look? I can live with the subdomain url but how about adverts – they don’t plaster the site with 3 party ads do they?

Unlike most of the other website builders, that offer free websites that are very basic in structure to what you can do and how your online presence will look, Wealthy Affiliate uses a WordPress platform which gives you more flexibility.

To utilize some of this flexibility you will be required to learn some extra steps and possible a little code but only if you want to. You can still have the website builder put together the main site then you can start to add your content and personalize the look and feel of the overall site. The theme you choose will set the main look and then plugins will give you the extra features and functions you may want.

The best part is you’ll have no third party advertising that does not benefit you on your site unless you choose to have things like AdSense where you’ll be paid to advertise even on this free site.

Wealthy Affiliate gives you full rain on your free website but to be honest, unless you already know all the things that are required to having a successful online business, mos people find the premium package to be the best way to go, as you can learn about all the different things you do not know in one location to stay on top.

You can learn elsewhere, but I find you end up wasting far too many hours trying to decipher between the information you need and the outdated information that no longer applies.

The long hours I save from searching and trying to analyze what is relevant or not is worth the premium price to me alone but that is only the tip of the ice berg.

Hey Travis,
This sounds really interesting for me as I am thinking of running my own business and need a website but have no idea regarding setting a website up.
What is the training like? I want to build a full website that can display my work portfolio. Will I be able to do this with you?
Will I be able to transfer my website to my own domain in the future as I may go down this route?
Thanks for your time,
Simon.

I want to start a blog, but I don’t know if I will like it, so a friend told me to try a free website/hosting. She told me that wordpress allows you to make free sites. Do you know if they have any limitations like the ones you mentioned? I have just started looking into this.

Also, you mentioned something about a University at the end of your article. Is this a university that is giving away 2 free websites?

The one I recommend at the end of this article is Wealthy Affiliate, and it does offer you two free websites.

The two free websites you can use with no strings attached, and you can upgrade to premium for further learning and ongoing training, or you can choose to stay on the free package and do your learning and training after from other sources. WA does offer some training for free, but all the extras and continuing education with the community are for the premium members.

This is a great site. I like you talk about how the other companies try to dupe you with their offers. Free hosting sounds great at the beginning, but when you dig deeper you see all is not great. There are a lot restrictions put ob the users of these sites. You can’t make profit or you have a billion ads and etc. I love your tips and the transition to wealthy affiliate.

One of the biggest things I think people need to think about is when you’re creating a site for personal use and along those lines, some of the different providers that offer free sites using their website builders may work fine.

When you’re looking to have a business site, then Wealthy Affiliate offers one of the only free sites that will work for you with the least amount of limitations. That being said, when you are building a business you need to consider investing some money to speed up the process and give yourself better flexibility and Wealthy Affiliate is one of the best places for that.

The other websites that have their limited free sites also have paid versions as well but mainly only offer you the initial stage of generating a site and your then left to market your site to get ranking and traffic. When all is said and done, you tend to spend much more money dealing with them and the other sites to get your ranking and traffic to your site then to get the full package from Wealthy Affiliate that helps you take care of everything at a much better price in the long run.

Thanks for the great information you have provided. Although I have to say I do agree on self-standing domain name. It’s much easier to have something which you own, versus hosting it on a sub-domain. Let’s say if someone were to host on a sub-domain, but then another person were to go and purchase the actual name of your sub-domain, much traffic would get pushed to their site rather than the sub-domain. Nice, keep up the great work.

    Travis

    July 3, 2016 at 11:02 am

That is a fair statement to make that the top level domain name will attract the traffic easier.

The way it works is somebody can use a sub-domain and if they have created their site correctly with the required content can outrank someone else’s site that has the actual top level domain name.

Where the difference comes in is the one that has the top level domain name can get their site to rank towards the #1 position easier with slightly less content because of how the search engines classify domain names. You still have to have great content and all the rules apply, but you will climb faster and easier for the domain name.

That is why it is also imperative to pick a domain name that is a keyword or keyword phrases so you’ll also get the free traffic from it when it does reach in the top ten. If your domain name is not a name people typically search then your name only becomes a search word when you have branded yourself, so people go looking for you.

Hi Travis,

So with Wealthy Affiliate I can get two websites and hosting for free? That sounds great.

If I already have a domain name will I be able to transfer it over to the hosting, or is that only for premium members? I’m a bit confused about the subdomain only bit.

It still sounds like a good place to begin learning about how to run an online business, without too much risk.

Thanks for breaking it all down so thoroughly.

Wealthy Affiliate does allow you to have the two free sites on their sub-domain when you have the free membership package. For you to transfer a domain name, you already own or to use any further new domains you need to be a premium member.

Premium gives you full access which means purchasing or using existing domain names on Wealthy Affiliate’s hosting platform. You have the ability to use 25, and you also can have 25 sub-domains for a total of 50 websites.

good article,
I see a lot of websites offering free hosting and websites. I was always afraid to check them out because I knew there must be some kind of catch.

I will have to check your link out. I appreciate your honesty and I like the idea of getting free training.

Hi John, and what you’ll discover here is the ability to have a better free site than most places without all the limitations. The free lessons that go with the package will help but remember to get the complete course and all the other access throughout Wealthy Affiliates site only exist for premium members.

You can still keep your free sites after the 7-days, but you’ll need to know already about working with sites and online marketing or find other resources to help you out with it all. I have started listing places to go for some required resources that can help.

Hi travis
Thank the for the information, now I know what to look for, and what to do. I have been looking for a free website and hosting ads for quite some time with no luck, there were few that displayed that criteria but they turned out to be scam.

It can be hard to find free websites that allow you to build the type of site you want without all the limitations and advertising they place throughout your site. With Wealthy Affiliate you’ll have the opportunity to create the site the way you want without the provider advertising and with a lot more flexibility.

The great thing about Wealthy Affiliate where they are more than just a provider they do not rely on just hosting, so you receive more for your free websites. Wealthy Affiliate gives you more functions and features for your free site than the other providers allow. You also have no advertising anywhere throughout your site unless you put it there. If you want a free site and know how to create and build it to your liking, then this is the place to be WA!

This post actually add value for people in the marketplace looking for website hosting. There are so many products and solutions out there bragging about how they have more features than their competitors but what your post has done is to give people the option to test it out for themselves. Thanks for writing this.

I find it is always best to try out the trial period or free packages to see if the programs or services being offered are something you like. There are so many places on the net that you do not need to pay up front just to find out what they offer is useless to you.

If there is any quality behind what the company offers they have no problem with free trials or packages for you to try. Most Internet sites that know they have crap want the money up front knowing you’ll drop their useless services after you have the opportunity to check them out. If you do not cancel, then they will up-sell and nickel and dime you to death as much as they can before you finally quit.
